Scenic Construction, Art and Prop Making is my trade.
I am a Scenic creative from Wales with over six years’ experience in the theatre and creative industry, specializing in construction and scenic art. I am a hard worker and an enthusiastic, self-starter I am assertive, organised when completing tasks and full of motivation. I am an all-rounder, and able to adapt to new environments and learn new skills easily and efficient.
I have recently been travelling in Australia and had the chance to work for Opera Australia as a mechanist and scenic carpenter. Working on LA Boheme on Sydney Harbour and building scenery for Aida production in Sydney Opera House, as well as a company called MNR Construction a creative construction company where i worked on building sets, installation, fit outs and pop up projects
Previous to this adventure i was workshop Assistant at Salisbury Playhouse building scenery from February 2014 to May 2015. I worked on the Autumn Season 2013 at the Torch Theatre as Scenic Artist where I later returned as Carpenter and scenic Artist for the 2015 Autumn Season.
I am used to working as a team, yet equally adaptable to working as an individual. I as used to working in workshops as well as on site and theatre venues. I am comfortable using industrial machines and hand tools. I am used to using Cad and Sketch up and working from scale drawings and plans.
I want to explore further into the artistic world, recreating design concepts, whether it be for a small touring show, large-scale productions, film or television or pop up events.
