Scenic Construction, Art and Prop Making is my trade.
I am a Scenic creative from Wales with over 10 years’ experience in the theater and creative industry, specializing in construction and scenic art. I am a hard worker and an enthusiastic, self-starter I am assertive, organized when completing tasks and full of motivation. I am an all-rounder, and able to adapt to new environments and learn new skills easily and efficient.
I am currently workshop Technician at Arts University Bournemouth where i help facilitate and supervise students in Theater and Film production in the workshop and Film Studio. Through my understanding and knowledge of Set construction and production arts. Previous to this educational role i am in now i was at RWCMD as Construction Supervisor building scenery for the college productions working with Designers and stage management, enabling them to believe that reaching your dream job is possible!!!
I had the joy of traveling in Australia for nearly two years and had the chance to work for Opera Australia as a mechanist and scenic carpenter. Working on LA Boheme on Sydney Harbour and building scenery for Aida production in Sydney Opera House, as well as a company called MNR Construction a creative construction company where i worked on building sets, installation, fit outs and pop up projects
Previous to this adventure i was workshop Assistant at Salisbury Playhouse building scenery from February 2014 to May 2015. I worked on the Autumn Season 2013 at the Torch Theatre as Scenic Artist where I later returned as Carpenter and scenic Artist for the 2015 Autumn Season.
I am used to working as a team, yet equally adaptable to working as an individual. I as used to working in workshops as well as on site and theatre venues. I am comfortable using industrial machines and hand tools. I am used to using Cad and Sketch up and working from scale drawings and plans.
I want to explore further into the artistic world, recreating design concepts, whether it be for a small touring show, large-scale productions, film or television or pop up events.
